Aston Martin has unveiled its new flagship, the DB12, which replaces the DB11 and celebrates 110 years of Aston Martin as well as 75 years of the iconic DB model line-up. The Gaydon-based carmaker is calling the DB12 the world’s first ‘super tourer’.
The DB12 has a similar appearance to the DB11, but with more luxurious features. It boasts a massive grille upfront like the Valhalla, and its rear looks similar to its predecessor. The vehicle’s track is also wider, measuring 6mm at the front and 22mm at the rear compared to the DB11. The car comes standard with 21-inch wheels equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 S tires. Additionally, the car is finished in a stunning British Racing Green color.
Inside the Aston Martin DB12
The cabin of the Aston Martin DB12 has been significantly updated and modernized. It boasts a digital driver’s display as well as a 10.25-inch integrated touchscreen in the centre console. The car also features a Bowers and Wilkins sound system, built-in navigation, and plenty of driver-assist and connectivity software.
Under the hood, the DB12 is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that produces nearly 680bhp and an incredible 800Nm of torque. This represents a 34% increase compared to the outgoing DB11. As a result, the DB12 accelerates from 0-100kmph in just 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 325kmph.
Performance Enhancements of the Aston Martin DB12
In addition to its powerful engine, the Aston Martin DB12 also features several performance enhancements. These include a reworked power steering system, electronic rear differential, sharper electronic stability control, and an additional radiator for improved cooling. The car also boasts cast-iron 400mm front discs and 360mm rear discs, making it the best handling DB model ever, according to Aston Martin.
The DB12 is expected to begin deliveries in the third quarter of 2023 and will be available for sale in India once global sales commence.
